Using Permeable Pavement materials is another step to create sustainable cities and sustainable landscapes. Permeable surfaces consist of different types of pavers that infiltrate stormwater also acts as structural pavement. Unlike conventional systems where the rainwater is directed to the gulleys that collect water before it passes through the pipes, Permeable pavements permit rainwater to flow to the subgrade. With this type of configuration, stormwater is managed, and floods are inhibited and positively affect the water quality. In contrast, impermeable surface pollutants are directed into the drainage systems of the city.
